My Snow Day

Well, after many people telling us it would not snow that much here in London for winter I was feeling a bit down about not being able to play in the snow whilst here.

Well, It happened. A few weeks ago I got my wish. After a long eighteen years of little or no snow during the winter months, it did snow and quite a bit! It actually started the night before these photos were taken. I heard people playing in the snow outside way past 2:00 a.m.

There is something about the snow, everyone turns into little kids and has to at least get out and make a snow man or throw a few snow balls around. I was no exception. I was antsy from the time I got up and looked out the window the next morning. I was on a mission to make a snowman and maybe even a snow angel...

A few of my roommates, Emmy, Amelia and Charlot, came along to play as well.

The day after the Inauguration

I found out that we made it on the Today Show news!!! How crazy is that! I took a photo clip of the video for my souvenir.

A trip to Madame Tussauds (wax museum) and an Inauguration Day Party, Hard Rock Cafe in London

Because it was a big day in American history, the inauguration of our new president, Madame Tussauds had free admission to all American citizens.  Of course my friends and I had to take advantage of the opportunity. We even got our photo taken with the wax Obama.

We then headed to the Hard Rock Cafe to enjoy a meal and watch the inauguration. Whilst waiting in line we met a woman from Arkansas.  She said she was there for her fiftieth birthday. She was handing out free Obama badges to everyone in line!

After waiting in line for some time I assumed we would be in the back of the room and only hoped that we would be able to see the television from there. A woman came out and asked if there was a group of three waiting to get in. It was our lucky day! She rushed us inside and we were seated at a table, which was right next to the television. It was an amazing day, an amazing swearing in and Obama’s speech was grand!

The atmosphere was great all day. There were pleasant and smiling faces. People all over the world were feeling hopeful.
