settling in...

I start my days off with a look out my window...

and some coffee, ok a massive amount of coffee.

Little things like coffee and my items from home made me feel more comfortable here.

I cannot bring everything I need from home, so I started looking around my neighborhood for grocery stores, second-hand shops, etc...I found these great pots and pans, a colander and utensils all for under £6.00 at the local second-hand shop!!

I also found a clothes airer to save me money on drying everything. I grew up hand washing my small items and love the idea of saving money!

Every once in awhile I have to wash something in the laundry facilities.

But if I can help it, I would rather use my little tub to scrub!

Yay, I FINALLY got my Oyster travel card in the mail. I am everywhere now!!!

I found at some point I needed to purchase an alarm clock so I can make it to my class, right! It is nice to have a radio as well.
It is almost 9:00 p.m. right?....I will get the hang of this at some point.

Taking a stroll down the isle at the grocery store and familiarizing myself with the different products...

some a bit more interesting than others

That is just funny...

I have settled into my classes and started my work.

I am finding my way around London and the Tube stations..

The traffic is so slow today. Where is everybody?...

These are the best granola bars I have ever eaten! My roommate found them at our local grocery store. Yummy! they only make them on certain days of the week, so we try to make it up there early to get a treat!

This is my work desk in my cozy little room. I added a few images from home and some inspiring images that I picked up recently to add to my wall. I already have piles of paper and messes here and there. I feel at home. I love my little space.

This is my train stop, which is very close to the campus and halls of residence.

I am really enjoying my process of settling in and am feeling comfortable in finding my way around with much ease. I can walk to my grocery store, which is just a few blocks away from where I stay.

To the University of Westminster I will go

September 27, 2008
So, I met Willow this great guy and friend of neil and Roma. He decided, without knowing anything about me really, to drive me and my large amounts of luggage to the university housing. The drive there was very nice and full of chatting and laughter. After a few detours shall we call them, Willow dropped me and Amelia at the halls of residence.

Taking a look around campus.

My cozy little bed...

the view from the kitchen. It is a very nice campus and close to the Wembley's football Stadium.

The kitchen, not bad...

I put most of my belongings away and felt a bit more in place there. It will take awhile to get the feel of the place really.

There is a kettle. Yay!

I have my own bathroom!!!! I love it!

The view outside my window is to die for!..hehe.

cleaning up a bit and settling in for my first night's stay

The next day we made it to Neil & Romas favorite little pub for a game of trivia

There is a new sheriff in town

A few days after we got to Luton we met up with Neil and the crew for coffee at the office.
Checking out what Jeff is designing...nice. jeff works with Neil and Justin. A really nice guy.

Hanging out with the guys, Mark, Neil and Justin
We met Mark, on the left side, that day as well. He is very sweet and has a great sense of humor! :-) He complimented my work I did on his messenger bag, which was nice to hear.

Oh, coffee for me!!

resting a bit with Justin.

Getting a photo of the group, Jeff, Amelia, Justin, Neil, and Mark with the tote bags I designed for them. What a good looking group!

Such a great bunch of guys!!...

We all spent one evening at another local pub listening to Neil DJ. He rocked it!

Roma listening to the tunes....I love this girl!

Go Neil!!

Curry night at the Red Chilli. Such an amazing night talking with friends and eating good food.

I ate, and ate....and ate...

Justin sharing his dinner...

It was so hard to leave at the end of the week. Neil and Roma made us feel at home and were so kind. I met some great people and had such a relaxing time there. I love Luton. There are some great people there!! I can't wait to come back again and hang out.

Cheers!!
